Brian Smith

Brian was the Club Chairman from its inception.  He was enthusiastic about everything he did, from his august academic work to mountaineering, climbing, orienteering and much more.  He was a great encouragement to very many club members and we all remember his good humour and especially his “long and boring speech” at every dinner.
